Do words like SEO, Lead Magnets, CRM, Accounting, and Marketing make you feel like your head is going to explode?

Are you a small business owner who feels like your head is going to explode at the mention of things like SEO, lead magnets, CRM systems, Accounting and Marketing?  When you're a small business owner there are SO many things you need to be responsible for, not just the thing you thought you were going into business to do, right?  Can I get an amen? ๐Ÿ˜‰

When you started out, you probably realized you were pretty good at that one thing and really enjoyed doing it.  Pretty soon your friends and family were asking you to do it for them, and before long even your friends friends were calling you to do that thing...and then the next thing you know you've got yourself a thriving little business!  Which all seemed great  - you know that saying, "do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life"?  That's the dream, right? ...and you think you've got it locked in - until you realize there's a lot more to this gig than just doing "the thing"....things like scheduling, invoicing, accounting, marketing, and taxes...ugh!  Some people love doing all that back end stuff, but truth be told, it generally isn't as fun and sexy as doing "the thing".

So let's be honest with each otherโ€ฆhow much time do you spend doing that thing you love these days compared to the amount of time you THOUGHT you'd be spending when you first started out?  If it's not nearly enough and you often feel like your business is sucking the life out of you, it's time to regroup and find a way to get the business side of your business on track so you can get back to doing the thing you love and living the life you envisioned when you started your entrepreneurial journey.

Getting back to doing what you love might mean learning some new skills to help you be more effective and efficient at those tasks, using technology, or maybe even outsourcing those tasks to someone who actually enjoys doing them.  ๐Ÿ˜‰  There are lots of options out there, but running yourself into the ground for the sake of your business is not one of them! When I started my photography business, I felt like my head was going to explode with all of that new stuff too, but I've learned a lot over the years and I'm really a business and tech geek at heart, so once I got going I actually loved some of that stuff!  I'm an accountant by trade but I don't want to be your bookkeeper. ๐Ÿ˜ But having that degree and formal training means I understand the ins and outs of the financial end of your business and can help you and your bookkeeper set up and maintain your books so you can use the information to effectively run your business.  I have also spent the last 30 years or so of my life deep in the weeds on all aspects of business operations - managing resources - people, money, equipment, technology, compliance, facilities, business acquisition, processes and procedures.  I have a knack for being able to see things clearly from a 30,000 foot view, and then help design and implement a clear path to success using the skills and resources I've acquired over the years.

In my own business I have become more familiar with the online space, and have learned a lot about Digital Technology, from Customer Relationship Management (CRM ) systems to domain hosting platforms and website providers to email marketing platforms.  These are areas that every small business owner in today's world needs to be familiar with, but it's hard to be an expert in all of these areas and grow and run your business at the same time, so having someone in your corner who can guide you through the process is critical.  In my work as a small business consultant, one of the first things we'll do is work together to determine where you currently are in your business, where you want to go, and then we'll work together to develop a plan to help you get there.

In some cases, I may be able to help you "do" some of the implementation and in others, you'll do it yourself or outsource it, but in all cases, I will be there with you for as long as you need me to help guide, document, and inspect the outcomes.  If you're looking for someone to walk beside you in your business, to be a sounding board, and help you and your team reach the goals you've set, I'm here for you!

Some people need me for a particular project and period of time, others are looking for a longer-term commitment, and some just need me for a one and done project.  If you're stressed out and spending too much time working IN your business instead of ON your business, let's chat and see if I can help you out.

You can schedule a call HERE if you'd like to chat. I'd love to hear from you!
